IUI WITH DONOR SEMEN
This treatment is similar to that of the routine IUI treatment but here due to severe male factor infertility or Azoospermic males (no sperms in semen sample) or the males having some infections or chromosomal or any genetic disorders which may be transmitted to the offspring, a donor semen sample is used. The donor semen sample is provided by the respective semen banks wherein the couple can directly give in their specifications to match their requirements. The donors are generally screened for sexually transmitted infections and their sperm parameters are taken into consideration. The donors are matched according to the blood groups, Rh typing and physical characteristics and the sample is inseminated in the female partner after inducing ovulation as mentioned in the procedure above. The success rates remain similar to the routine IUI process.
